Pharmacological actions
Macrolide antibiotic formulated as tylosin tartrate .Like other macrolide antibiotics ,tylosin inhibits bacteria by binding to 50S ribosome and inhibiting protein synthesis.Spectrum of activity limited primarily to gram-positive aerobic bacteria.Clostridium and Campylobacter are usually sensitive.Escherichia coli and salmonella are resistant in pigs,lawsonia intracellularis is senstive.

Indication
For Gram-positive bacteria and mycoplasma infections such as
Chicken chronic respiratory disease,infectious rhinitis,pigs mycoplasma pneumoniae,arthritis,it also used for pigs pneumoniae and dysentery caused by pasteurella and dysentary caused by treponema

Dosage and Administration
by oral administration
Cattle, sheep, goats and pigs: one tablet /30-60kg body weight,10-20mg/kg body weight.
Poultry: one tablet/12kg body weight 50mg/kg body weight

Special warning
Not to be used in lactating cattle
Not to be used in laying hens

Adverse reaction(Frequency)
Tylosin may cause diarrhea in some animals.skin reactions have been observed in pigs
Administration to horses has been fatal

Drug Interactions
It should not be used simultaneously with other macrolides.combined with β-lactams were
antagonistic

Overdosage
A veterinarian should be contacted immediately if any concerning symptoms occur or if an overdose is suspected.
